Devotee’s Wish Fulfilled
A sheer monument to a devotee’s love for his beloved Kuladevata Shri Mahalasa Narayani can be seen at this temple located amidst beautiful, scenic surroundings of Shirva-Manchakal in Udupi district of Karnataka.
One unique thing about this temple is that the purohits/archaks are not from the traditional Bhat family.
The credit goes to one ardent devotee belonging to the family of Beloor Shenoy/Shanbag. (Beloor is a village which is located near Manoor/Thekkate of Kundapura taluka, north of Udupi district).
On a prashna (religious query), HH Swamiji Shri Sudhindra Teertha allowed the Beloor Shenoy family to officially carry out the work of archaks/purohits and perform the daily rituals at the Lotus Feet of Shri Mahalasa Narayani.
Today, the temple attracts many of Her Kulavis from all over India and abroad.
